Orient Property Consulting Limited, a real estate consulting firm, has indicated its readiness to provide guidelines to the public on land laws and its related issues through free seminars, aimed at ending the nuisance in land acquisition.
The move, according to the Executive Director for Orient Property Consulting Limited, Isaac Dwimoh-Opoku, forms part of the firm’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and seeks to do away with the troubles that individuals and organisations go through in their attempt to acquire a land or property in the country.
“In 2022, as part of our corporate social responsibilities, we would like to offer free seminars covering areas such as guidelines on purchasing land/house, land title registration, Ghana land laws, acquiring building and other development permits, property development, real estate investment, acquiring a mortgage and others,” Mr. Opoku indicated.
Mr. Opoku hinted on how relevant acquiring land has become to most people and this makes most of them fall prey to fraudsters and face dire consequences.
“It is the desire of almost every person to own a property/land, either for residential use, commercial and religious purposes among others. However, the ignorance of our land laws, system of ownership, customary practices and activities of fraudsters have made property/land acquisition in most part of the country a difficult process,” he noted.
According to him, “a lot of individuals and organizations have lost thousands and millions of Ghana Cedis in an attempt to acquire properties or land. Others have also gotten themselves entangled in never ending legal cases at the law courts.”
As part of plans for 2022, the company is calling on religious bodies, associations and other stakeholders to embrace the opportunity which will benefit its members by deepening their understanding about land laws and related matters.
“Our plan is to do this in partnership with churches, corporate bodies, NGOS, clubs & associations through presentation at their programmes. We therefore write to seek the opportunity from your organisation for a schedule from your activities for such a seminar,” Mr. Opoku stated.
